The Bildeston Crown supports a number of local projects, events and good causes. Here are just a few:
BILDESTON RANGERS FOOTBALL CLUB
The Bildeston Crown supports its local football club.
As the 2011/12 season concluded, the Saturday team finished about half way up the Division 2 table in the SIL and the Sunday team much the same in the Treadfirst Sudbury League with respective Cup runs ending at the quarter final stages.
HADLEIGH RFC
April 2012 – Congratulations Hadleigh RFC – promoted from Eastern Counties Two to Eastern Counties One!
Hadleigh Rugby Football Club, founded in 1984, is a Community Amateur Sports Club supporting the local communities by offering the chance to play rugby from the age of 6 years upwards. The club has a very strong Mini and Youth section were three of the older age groups recently travelled on a three day rugby tour to the West Country International Rugby Festival. The 1st XV were, this season, champions of Eastern Counties 2 league and are promoted to Eastern Counties 1 for next season. The club is a vibrant, friendly organisation that welcomes players and supporters of any ability.
HADLEIGH SHOW
The Bildeston Crown is a regular supporter of the annual Hadleigh Show, one of the oldest one-day Agricultural Shows in the Country! As in past years we have “exhibited” alongside our fellow members of the Hadleigh Chamber of Commerce or flipped burgers on behalf of a client. In 2012 we sponsored the Suffolk Horse Display
HADLEIGH CHAMBER OF COMMERCE
The Bildeston Crown is a member of the local Chamber of Commerce and is delighted to host the Chamber’s quarterly lunches stand where visitors have the opportunity to win a night’s stay at The Bildeston Crown by entering the raffle.
SUFFOLK FOOD FESTIVALS 2012
The Bildeston Crown’s Chef Chris Lee will be taking part in the programme of Cooking Demonstrations at the following Food Festivals this summer:
Sunday 27th May: Flavours of 2012
Venue: The Food and Drink Festival takes place at the beautiful Henham Park approximately 4 miles from the vibrant seaside town of Southwold
Sunday 1st July: Suffolk Food & Drink
Venue: Giffords Hall Vineyard, Hartest – Set in the gardens and grounds of the stunning Giffords Hall Vineyard, the Suffolk Food and Drink show has Bury St Edmunds just 9 miles to the north, Sudbury 9 miles to the South, Newmarket 18 miles to the West and Stowmarket 17 miles to the East.
Sunday 30th September: Aldeburgh Food & Drink Festival
Venue: Snape Maltings, Snape, near Saxmundham, Suffolk IP17 1SR. Snape Maltings is 5 – 10 minutes drive from Aldeburgh, and 30 – 40 minutes north of Ipswich.
