Now an annual celebration of Suffolk’s Red Poll beef, we are once again putting together a special seven course Tasting style menu to showcase Red Poll at its very best. The dinner will of course be held in the newly refurbished Ingrams.

The Bildeston Crown has always been a supporter of the annual Hadleigh Show, one of the oldest one-day Agricultural Shows in the Country. In past years we have “exhibited” alongside our fellow members of the Hadleigh Chamber of Commerce and flipped burgers on behalf of a client. This year we have chosen to sponsor the Suffolk Horse Display. The Bildeston Crown owner James Buckle explains further:

“We breed two of the Suffolk Trinity for meat – Red Poll cattle beef and Suffolk sheep. Both feature regularly on The Bildeston Crown menus. The third member of the Trinity – the Suffolk Punch horse – can be found at nearby Nedging Hall home to my mother who actively supports the Suffolk Horse Society. My family is passionately committed to conserving these indigenous Suffolk breeds and it seemed to be an excellent way of showing support for this work and of course the Show itself.”

“Have you read all the hype about rising hotel prices in the capital for the duration of the Games? Whether it is true or not remains to be seen but if you know of anyone lucky enough to have tickets it might be worth reminding them that the Olympic Park in Stratford can also be approached very easily from the east?”

Guests with tickets for the Olympic Park are advised to use the frequent direct train service (journey time under an hour) to Stratford from Manningtree station – a pleasant rural station with good parking and although over the border in Essex, only 30 minutes from Bildeston.
