The Crown opens a new chapter... We've enjoyed a refresh throughout our charming 15th century pub. Colours and furniture were selected to be in keeping with the timber-framed building, and we think we've achieved the relaxed vibe that we're going for. Greig Young has also joined the team as Executive Chef. A warm welcome Greig!

A seasoned chef with an abundance of experience and knowledge to share with us. Greig has worked in the culinary industry for nearly 20 years, beginning when he was as young as 15. Having trained in Scotland, Greig travelled to the other side of the globe to work in Australia and New Zealand.
Despite his world travels, he's found home in Suffolk and has been settled here for 10 years. Greig commented that he is “excited to revitalise The Crown and be able to work in such a successful business.” The Crown has always been considered “a place to celebrate,” as Greig recalls coming to our Sunday Lunch in the past and hearing of the establishment in earlier years. He's looking forward to being the first-place locals think of to pop in to for a quick and tasty supper...
Eager to continue The Crown’s legacy and bring it forward into a new chapter, Greig admires The Crown for what it has grown into and can’t wait to “put his stamp on it”.
Greig commented on the ‘estate-to-plate' ethos of The Crown, admiring the team’s passion for ethical dining stating “it is music to my ears. To have the kitchen garden at Nedging Hall to pick seasonal produce from inspires us chefs and keeps menus fresh which is exactly what people want…”

Having recently won the award for East Anglian Daily Times Environmental and Sustainability Business of the Year, The Crown has truly affirmed itself as a restaurant that puts the environment first and Greig is eager to be a part of that mission. There’s a real buzz about the place and with a brilliant team in place, The Crown looks set to do some great things in the coming months...
That's wonderful to hear—it's always inspiring when someone brings their passion and experience back to a place they truly consider home. Greig’s connection to The Crown and his vision for its future sound like the perfect recipe for keeping it a beloved local spot. I’m excited to see how he adds his own touch while honoring the tradition of it being “a place to celebrate.” Definitely planning a visit soon! ragdoll hit
That's fantastic! It's so inspiring to see a restaurant genuinely committed to sustainability. Good on The Crown for winning that award! It makes me much more likely to visit and support them. Thinking about relaxing afterwards, I wonder if their staff ever unwind with something simple? Sometimes, when I need to de-stress, I find playing Slope Game oddly therapeutic. Congrats again to The Crown!
That's wonderful to hear about Greig's plans for The Crown! His passion for local produce and creating a celebratory atmosphere really shines through. It reminds me of the connections you can find chatting with people from different places. You never know, you might even find someone online who's had a memorable meal at The Crown! If you're curious about different perspectives, Omegle can be a fun way to randomly connect with people and hear their stories. Good luck to Greig!
